For some its a way to pass time....for some its a way of making money.....for some its a way to reach the heights of popularity and acclaim.....but for me its a way of life......
Right from the time i was in school to this very moment...music has grown in me in a way, that now i just can't do without it.....sure the kind of music i listen to has undergone some major improvisations.......starting with the likes of backstrret boys, westlife and blue in the seventh grade to reaching the levels of led zep,,,,maiden,,,,nirvana etc...it was a roller coaster ride....it was a tremendous transition in the following ways:-
1.From humming "everybody"(backstreet boys) in the bathroom to yelling "rape me"(nirvana)
on the streets
2.From wanting to be out with Nick Carter to bieng the self-proclaimed wife of Kurt Cobain.
3.From the 'i love pink' sickness to the 'i hate pink' stance..
4.From being the sweet innocent lil girl to the bold wicked(*wink wink*) girl i am today
5.From dreaming of Mr. Right while listening to those "girlie boy bands" to headbanging to maiden,,slayer etc.
6.From thinking about love and crushes all the time (eeeeeeuuuuu thats so lame) to looking at life beyond the Mr.Right and way beyond love and its aftermath.
7.From being apprehensive about what people will think about me...... to...... "i don't give a f**k about what people think...
8.From thinking that Bollywood produces the rockstars of India ...to.... rsepecting,,loving,,worshiping,, Parikrama,,Junkyard Groove,,Demonic Resurrection,,Devoid etc for their patience and not being sellouts in an attempt to become popular..
9.From liking the colour black to loving and living the colour black...
10.From what i was then..... to what i am now
PHEWWWW!!!!(ur tired of reading and i'm tired of typing).....true its hard to believe that music alone can cause such drastic changes........somewhere or the other the lessons i've learnt in life have had an impact on my taste for music and at other times its vice versa......but it definitely has a connection....a mysterious link......
Since i'm talking music it would not do justice to a lot of people if i don't mention them...starting with the pioneers of metal ..........i have to mention all those who defined and are still defining the old and new genres of music .......You won't disagree with me when i call metallica,,,pink floyd,,,guns and roses,,,led zep the gods of creating music.....from David Gilmour to the late Richard Wright,, form James Hetfield to Dave Mustaine,,from Axl Rose to Slash,,from Jimmy Page to Robert Plant.................dead or alive their talent n skill will always be undefeated....then there was a certain jim morrison whom you just cant get over...even after 30+ years of his death u still c his face on several t-shirts n u feel his existence in the hearts of those who eat sleep think and listen to 'The Doors'....words so powerful that you cant help but fall in love with him......if there was someone who came, even a lil close to the likes of jim was Kurt Cobain....but the world couldn't see a lot of either of them...which is why they had to bid goodbye to life and more importantly to music at an earlier stage in life.........But for me listening to Kurt is like attaining Nirvana!!!!his dreamy voice takes you into a world of ur(his) own....its worse(or better!!) than any narcotic(not that i have tried it!!)....
and since i am absolutely jobless.....i'll have to mention nickelback,,greenday.,,coldplay,,system of a down,, audioslave,U2,,,RHCP..iron maiden (*bows down with respect*) ,,..
creed,, children of bodom,, lamb of god, dream theatre,,behemoth(xtreme black/death metal.....or call it barbarian metal like my friend calls it!!),,dimmu borgir,,arch enemy(angela gossow is friggin gud),,,i hope i hvnt missed any..........n yea u have to listen to 'lazarus' by porcupine tree its heavenly.......
Classic rock will always have its place......but den dat doesn't stop me frm listening to da sub-genres of metal.....frm black to death to thrash to goth to doom to progressive.......as long as its good i'll listen to it...
and thats probably why he called me "SHRAPNEL"........
